Air Business buys the UK’s premier subscription and publishing services bureau

St. Albans-based Air Business has successfully acquired Quadrant Subscription Services (QSS), one of the UK’s premier subscription and publishing services bureau. The deal sees QSS transferring ownership from Reed Business Information, who will remain as a client for the long-term, to become part of the expanding Air Business group. The acquisition is further indication that Air Business is continuing to pursue its stated strategy of intelligent growth.

Air Business is a well-established and highly successful provider of global distribution and logistics services including international and UK mail delivery, fulfillment, data management, circulation audits, international and UK courier services as well as exhibition handling.

Adam Sherman, Air Business Group MD said that, for a long time now the company has been successfully positioning itself as a complete provider of services for clients and this is just another logical step towards that goal, allowing publishers to concentrate on their core business of writing and selling.

Sherman said Air Business firmly believes that QSS is an excellent match for the organization, each of firms possessing high quality services that complement the other perfectly without crossover affording greater choice of complimentary services to its customer base.

The Managing Director of QSS, Stuart Lacey, now reporting to Group Managing Director Adam Sherman, noted that the acquisition will truly benefit both groups, and their collective clients, as the companies continue to grow together to deliver high quality customer services for the publishing and wider industry.

Over the last six years, Air Business has operated under a new management team which has achieved market-leading growth, rising from £8 million annual turnover to a projected £40 million in 2011 and beyond.

During this time, the company has also made bold strides in the industry through exemplary customer service and strategic expansion, solidifying its position as a market leader. In fact, in less than a decade Air Business has achieved significant growth across the board and received consecutive selections for strategic partnership with the publishing industry’s largest and most respected trading bodies, the PPA and FIPP.

If further evidence was needed of the high regard in which Air Business is held in the industry, their client list boasts an ever-increasing number of triple A brands like Informa, EMAP, Tesco, Spectator, Dennis Publishing, The Guardian, Private Eye, Progressive Media, The Tablet, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and more. Air Business was one of the first international mailing companies in the United Kingdom.
